Little Sticks, a Golfers Give Back programme, gives schools a ready-to-teach golf unit with equipment, lesson plans and a mentor to help them start.

Our approach

High-quality pe through golf

Little Sticks uses golf as a vehicle to inspire children and young people to develop the physical competence and confidence to enjoy movement and build a lifelong positive relationship with physical activity.

We empower schools to deliver high-quality, inclusive and engaging learning experiences through golf as part of Physical Education. By providing professional development, equipment and carefully designed curriculum resources, we support teachers to deliver purposeful, progressive and developmentally appropriate learning that nurtures the whole child across the physical, cognitive, social and emotional domains.

Our approach ensures every child has the opportunity to explore, learn, achieve and experience success, developing not only their movement skills but also the confidence, understanding and enjoyment needed to embrace physical activity throughout their lives.

From six schools to a national programme

Little Sticks began in 2023 as a pilot in six schools. The idea was simple: provide teachers everything they need to teach golf in PE, and let young people discover how the game can develop key transferable life skills: teamwork; respect; and resilience.

The programme grew quickly. Little Sticks is now being delivered in over 300 schools, impacting over 50,000 children and young people (2025/26).

To take that work further, Golfers Give Back was set up as an independent registered charity, which now leads Little Sticks. The charity also gives golfers from every part of the game a way to be part of it.
